I think he is a happy spirit.
I found this tree when I went on my walk in our pasture. I must have walked past this tree dozens of times and never noticed it.
I felt in the mood to start painting again! Now, I dislike this one....a lot. I need to practice wayyy more on drawing trees. I really liked the background, but oh well.
I half expected this tree to morph into something supernatural. I was also hoping that maybe a critter would emerge, but neither possibility occurred :)
Yesterday, I had meow first ever in meow entire life a delicious bite of spring - it was worth the wait!

Taken at University of Washington's The Quad lined with old cherry trees.
Eventually, these trees will be made into paper, lessening the pressure on natural forests. This is a drive-by shooting at 70 mph. (My wife was driving.)
As I was hiking back up the sloped trail from the Hot Creek valley, this lone tree, beckoned me to photograph it against the mist rising from the hot water of the creek.
went shooting with flickr-friend, Geir Vika, today. he showed me a location with some great waterfalls. i ended up with this - trees reflected in water. overexposed, turned upside-down, and converted to b&w.

This older man was slowly walking up the hill admiring the tree in his path. When he reached the tree he put his hands on the trunk and rested there for a while. This was taken in Lars Anderson park in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Best viewed LARGE to see the man more cleary.

Spent a couple hours wandering around Green Lake Park near Sea Lake last Spring. Lots of birds call this small patch of remnant bushland home, including plenty of these tiny Tree Martins, whom were nesting in this tiny hollow.
